Biography

  

Jordan Scott is a Senior Music Education Major from Jackson, Mississippi. The proud Jacksonian, graduated from Murrah High School where he left behind a musical and spiritual legacy. As a student at Murrah High School, Jordan served as a student leader in many capacities. Most notably being a leader of the high schools first student-led ministry titled “Mustangs for Christ”. As a leader, he diligently sought to create a safe space for fellow students who wanted to express themselves through worship and learning the Gospel.  Since his high school graduation, the young leader has continued to break barriers and bring people together through, music, faith studies and pure laughter. During his matriculation at Thee Jackson State University, he has been an active member of the Jackson State University Chorale under the direction of Dr. Loretta Galbreath where he serves as a Student Director, Chaplin and Bass Section Leader. Jordan, a deans list scholar, is a member of the J6 male ensemble, former member of JSU’s blue Ambassadors, NAACP and has served as the president of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Jordan is also a member of Christians United For Israel where he was awarded the Bonhoeffer Fellowship Scholarship to Tel Aviv Israel. Adventurous and willing to serve, in 2019 Jordan joined the mission team to Trinidad and Tobago where they shared the gospel with Hindus and Muslims.  Mr. Scott sings with the nationally known group “Jason Gibson and Destiny’s Project” who has shared the stage with many mainstream artists such as, Tye Tribbett and Kierra Sheard.  Jordan was invited to Marks, MS to provide entertainment for Martin Luther King III and John F. Kennedy’s family. The talented singer, serves as Music Director for Common Ground Covenant Church under pastor John Perkins. In 2018, Jordan hosted two seasons of WPBQ’s “Tiger Wave Radio on 94.3 FM along with his Co-Host Keitra Wilson. The ambitious scholar, directed and choreographed Midtown Public Charter Schools very first musical production “High School Musical” where he made clear his love for community and the greater enrichment of youth. Jordan is a passionate leader who dreams of one day opening a performing arts school for underprivileged youth! His motto is “Love God and Love people!”
